A MAN has been sent for trial in front of a judge and jury accused of causing the deaths of a pensioner and his wife by the way he drove his van.
Michael Thomas Foster appeared before magistrates in Harrogate yesterday following a road accident on the A168 at Dishforth, near Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, on December 5 ,involving his Mercedes van and the couple's car.
Magistrates sent him on bail to York Crown Court ordering him to appear there next Friday.
Mr Foster, 27, of Parish View, Salford, Manchester, is charged with causing the deaths of Jack Stephenson, 73, and his wife Dorothy Mary Stephenson, 55, of Kirby Hill, Boroughbridge, by dangerous driving.
