WORK starts on Monday to give a new look to Owton Manor library, in Wynyard Road, Hartlepool.
To minimise disruption to library users during the work, which will take a week, the neighbouring Owton Manor Community Centre will be turned into temporary facility.
However, access to the Internet and other computer facilities will not be available.
Kay Tranter, the council's south libraries manager, said: "The improvements will involve replacing the old wooden shelving with a more modern metal system."
