CHRISTMAS float collections netted Darlington Bondgate Round Table more than £7,000, to be distributed to local good causes.
Volunteers from the 9th, 11th, 13th, 14th and 17th Darlington Scout Groups helped pull Santa's sleigh over the festive period, collecting money from members of the public.
Kevin McConnell, the Round Table's press officer, said: "We raised the tremendous sum of £7,717. This was a tremendous community effort and we thank everybody who helped."
