A PUB landlady was rescued from a fire by her partner.
Michelle Cowie and Neil Craggs escaped from their flat above the Bute Arms, Dipton, near Stanley, County Durham, in the early hours of yesterday.
Mrs Cowie was awakened by smoke pouring into her bedroom. Her partner dragged her to safety.
She said: "We had to escape, but thankfully we managed to get out all right."
The fire brigade was called to the fire, which was caused by an electrical fault shortly before 5am
