COUNCILLORS will run the rule over controversial plans for an indoor soccer centre, in Durham, tomorrow.
Members of Durham City Council's development control committee will visit the site at New Ferens Park, on the city's Belmont Industrial Estate, before making a decision.
Durham City Football Club wants to build the centre, along with industrial units, pub and hotel.
Its plans - it originally proposed outdoor soccer pitches - were refused planning permission by Durham City Council over concerns that the scheme would take up open space and that allotments on the site would be lost.
The club appealed and the decision was overturned after a public inquiry, but a condition of permission was that it relocate the allotments elsewhere on the site. Council planning officials will recommend giving planning permission
