Tesco supermarket is offering training and employment to jobless people when its Dragonville store opens in the autumn.

The company hopes many of the 400 jobs will be filled from the ranks of the unemployed.

Tesco has launched the Dragonville Partnership with organisations including local councils and Sherburn Road Regeneration Initiative.

Today, the Dragonville Partnership is holding a jobs open day at the Pelaw View Centre, Hilda Avenue, on the Sherburn Road Estate, starting at 9.30am.
