EXPLORER Group, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of caravans and motor homes, has reported record sales at the Boat, Caravan and Leisure Show, held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, earlier this month.
The Consett company presented two new touring ranges - the Compass Corona and the Eldiss Odyssey - and two new motor-home ranges - the Compass Avantgarde and Elddis Sunseeker - at the show. The value of orders across the brands totalled £8m, a 12 per cent increase on last year's figure.
The Coachman Pastiche, manufactured at Explorer's Hull factory, was named best two-berth under £13,000 by the Caravan Club.
Explorer Group development director Michael Hold said the company was delighted with the response from dealers and the buying public.
He said: "We always look forward to the Boat, Caravan and Leisure Show ever year and we are extremely delighted with the response we have had across all our brands, but in particular the new ranges from Compass and Eldiss.
"We feel confident the excellent sales recorded at the NEC reflect Explorer Group's strong position as a leading manufacturer of tourers and motorhomes in the UK."
