THE firm behind a £7m leisure complex is expected to name the "national companies" interested in opening on the site later this month.
Developers Terrace Hill were granted outline planning permission earlier this month for the three-storey complex on derelict land opposite the Feethams bus station in Darlington.
Director Robert Cansick said he hoped work could begin developing the site in June or July, lasting 16 months.
He said the site of the bus station could be transformed into a second phase in the future.
Mr Cansick said he was in talks with national operators of cinema, bingo, health and fitness and ten-pin bowling outlets.
"It's a three-level scheme. At this stage, I can't release any names but I will certainly be in a position to do that in three or four weeks."
