YOUNG book worms who also have a flair for writing have been singled out for awards presented by the Inner Wheel Club of Northallerton.
Children from schools in and around North Yorkshire's county town were invited to send in reviews of books they have enjoyed as part of a competition organised to mark World Book Day later this spring and entries flooded in from all over the area.
However, the judges chose nine-year-old Jenny Iveson as the winner and she was presented with a certificate to mark her achievement, a book token and books for her school, in East Cowton.
Also highly commended were Isobel Allen, aged 11 from East Cowton, 11-year-old Jasmine Court of Northaller-ton's Bullamoor Junior School and nine-year-olds Thomas Chapman and Elisabeth Miles, of Osmotherley
