A DAREDEVIL raised £200 for charity in a parachute jump he won in a raffle.
Andrew Pickersgill, of Byerley Park, Newton Aycliffe, made the leap on Sunday.
The parachuting voucher, given by Ian Rosening, of Peterlee Parachute Centre, was a prize in the Interact Club of Newton Aycliffe's Grand Millennium Draw.
After the winner of the voucher declined to accept the challenge, the club offered the parachute jump to the public.
Andrew's application form was chosen at random. In collaboration with the club, Andrew has decided to donate the £200 he raised in sponsorship to the British Heart Foundation.
Past president of the Interact Club, Alan Strickland, and two fellow members are hoping to take part in sponsored parachute jumps in April.
Any fellow daredevils should contact the parachute centre on (0191) 5171234 for details of available courses
