A REVAMP for Saltburn's miniature railway was being signalled yesterday.
Redcar and Cleveland planning committee was being recommended to give the go-ahead to changes for the railway in the town's Valley Gardens.
A facelift is needed to safeguard the future of the attraction, councillors were being told.
The modifications would include realignment of the track for the first time in 50 years. The ticket office would be moved to a new building on the eastern side of the Cat Nab car park.
The engine shed would also be moved to a new brick building on the other side of Skelton Beck.
A report to the committee says the existing shed is starting to lean and is not big enough for steam engines to be reintroduced.
