Tow Law Bass League
Leaders, Billy Row Club crashed to their first defeat of the season when they took a weakened team to Tow Law New Market A and only collected three points when Fred Cockburn, George Dodds and Geoff Pratt won their singles. The New Market took both trebles, all three doubles and had singles wins from Darren Yeoman, Arthur Atkinson and Colin Howcroft.
This leaves Billy Row 15 points clear of Esh Stag's Head with the New Market A a further eight points adrift.

Willington League
Neil Foster was the star of the week after he hit two maximums for the Prospect Club, who failed to be inspired by his efforts for they could only draw at Hunwick Quarry Burn. Colin Davison of the Burn hit the other maximum of the week for the Willington Burn, who were also held to a draw by the visiting Willington Cottles.
The Victoria Club now lead the table by 21 points from Willington Burn, who are 13 points in front of the Prospect Club.

Crook Ladies League
With Crook Coach and Horses already assured of the Championship, the main interest centres on the runners-up spot. Last week Crook Queen's Head entertained second placed Tow Law New Market and won by the odd point. The singles were shared but then the Queen's took all three doubles points before losing the two pointed team game. This leaves the New Market seven points ahead of the Queen's Head, with the Victoria Club just a further three points adrift.

Ithe Team Singles Knock-out Cup the leaders, Crook Mill House safely steered their way through to the Final with two good wins at Oakenshaw Club, while in the other half of the draw at Crook Three Blue Bells, Crook White Swan and Crook Royal Sun will have to play off their semi-final on Finals Night for the right to meet the Mill House.

The long awaited match between the top two undefeated teams turned out to be a bit of a non-event. Stockton were at home to Middlesbrough South at the Spotted Cow and Middlesbrough got off to a storming start. Paul Gaffney (19.57) beat Lenny Ransom (18.22) 3-1, Paul Skelton (22.97) beat Mark Muckian (21.71) 3-1, Kenny Dobson (25.84) beat Allan Snabel (24.42) 3-1 and man of the match Glen Durrant (29.47) beat Jim Bannister (22.06) 3-0. The home side then won the next match when Colin Johnson (25.15) beat Pat Burgess (23.66) 3-1 but Darren Gamesby (25.65) beat Neil Young (23.92) 3-1 and Peter Searle (27.33) beat Brian Boulton (24.41) 3-0 which meant the final score was 6-1 to Middlesbrough South.
Marske were at home to Guisborough and took a early lead when Steve Robinson (22.10) beat Keith Stockdale (20.54) 3-0 and Tony Mitchell (22.57) beat Alan Edwards (19.98) 3-2.
However, the situation was soon level when Geoff Edwards (21.46) beat Greg Raines (20.20) 3-2 and Steve Scaiffe (19.29) beat John Peoples (20.48) 3-2.
Man of the match Phil MacKay (25.47) beat Lee Smith (24.21) 3-0 to give the lead to Marske but Ian Greenwood (19.27) beat Mark Hodgson 3-0 to make it 3-3. Andy Cree (20.24) beat Mick Seaton (18.31) 3-1 to make the final score 4-3 to Marske.
Billingham were away to Hartlepool at the Travellers Rest. Jason Steele (19.23) beat Dave Bishop (18.24) 3-1 to put the home side one up. Man of the match Joe Nicholson (28.36) beat Chris Plant (24.71) 3-0 to level the match but again the home side took the lead when Bob Dawson (23.24) beat Tony Liddell (21.95) 3-1.
It was soon level when Steve Conway (18.90) beat Fed Page 3-2 but then Rob Grundy (25.21) beat Rob Cowley (24.89) 3-1 and Henry Douglas (21.71) beat Peter Maw (20.09) 3-2 to give Hartlepool an unbeatable lead. Andy Huskinson (23.27) beat Ian Dawson (21.40) 3-2 to make the final score 4-3 to Hartlepool.
Billingham Green entertained Thirsk at Visions. The visitors took a early lead when Simon Craven (26.70) beat Mal Cairnie (26.52) 3-2 and Neil Flynn (22.12) beat Steve Blackmore (21.00) 3-2. Man of the match Gary Stephens (28.91) beat Dave Moon (25.70) 3-1 to make it 2-1 then Jim Dunlop (25.31) beat Allan Galley (24.77) 3-2 to tie the match. There was no coming back for Billingham Green when Rich Corner (23.12) beat Phil Hadlett(20.53) 3-2 and Glyn Neads (23.12) beat Kevin Stephens (20.55) 3-0.
In the final match, Norman Stringer (21.78) beat Tim Sloper 3-0 which meant the final score was 4-3 to Thirsk.
Stokesley were at home to Croft. John Yates (20.14) beat Eddie Mullen 3-1 to put the home side one up.
But from then on the visitors dominated. Carl Smith (23.12) beat Paul Corner (18.35) 3-0, man of the match, Andy Ford (23.48) beat Rob Corner (21.43) 3-0, Mark Durham (21.52) beat Peter Allport (20.36) 3-1, Charlie Copeland (19.72) beat Martyn Bulman (20.52) 3-2 and Keith Gowland (22.31) beat Ron McGinty (20.59) 3-1. Croft were a player short so the final score was 5-2 to Croft.
