A MARTIAL arts expert has become a British champion for the third time.
Thai boxer Craig Shaw, 19, of Darlington, lifted the World Muay Thai Council's British title in the 63.5kg category last weekend.
Mr Shaw is a member of the Darlington Boxing and Martial Arts Academy. Trainer Paul Hamilton said: "Now he's going to fight for the European title."
The win means Craig is ranked number one at his weight in Europe and number seven in the world. It is the third time he has won a British title, each at a different weight.
Later this year, Mr Shaw will represent the club at a competition in Bangkok, Thailand
