A creamery at Richmond, North Yorkshire, will be unveiling a new hand-made cheese at the International Food Exhibition later this month.
The Swaledale Cheese Company, which produces traditional hand-crafted cheeses, wil present Swaledale ltaliana, made from a blend of local cows milk, fresh basil and Italian sun-dried tomatoes at the event in London on march 25-28.
The firm's new goat's cheese in olive oil will also be on display at the IFE.
Small cubes of traditional Swaledale goat's cheese, pink peppercorns, garlic and herbes de Provence, are presented in olive oil, in a traditional glass jar.
The Swaledale Cheese Company will also be exhibiting its other cheeses. They include Swaledale with Chives and Garlic, Old Peculiar Yorkshire Ale, Richmond Smoked cheese, Blue Swaledale, a more mature Bedale cheese and the company's flagship Swaledale Cows Milk cheese.
All of the cheeses are hand-crafted from a traditional farmhouse recipe that is believed to date back to the local monks who arrived in the Yorkshire Dales in the 11th Century.
The company produces all of its products using labour intensive techniques.
Partner David Reed said: "We are treating IFE as a launchpad for Swaledale ltaliana, which has been developed specially for the show, following extensive market research."
The Swaledale stand will have free tasting sessions throughout the exhibition.
The cheeses are available through speciality retailers, regional markets, top quality restaurants and mail order.
