A TEENAGE drug addict who became a father at the age of 13 was given a chance by a judge yesterday.
Kevin Conway, 18, was arrested when police raided a Teesside housing estate.
Undercover police had bought £10 wraps of heroin from him, between May and July 1999, from a shed at the back of a council house in Woodville Avenue, Grove Hill, Middlesbrough, and from another house a few doors away.
Conway had also burgled his sister Lorraine's house twice when she was in hospital, stripping it of £10,000 furnishings to feed his habit, said Deborah Sherwin, prosecuting.
Chris Baker, defending, said that Conway, a father at 13 and a drug addict, was now free of drugs.
Conway, of Bishopton Road, Middlesbrough, was remanded on bail for assessment for a place in a probation hostel after admitting supplying heroin, theft, and two burglaries
Two women and five men appeared in the dock with him.
Eric Bullock, of Gresham Road, Middlesbrough, was jailed for four years after he admitted conspiracy to supply heroin.
Graham Worsfold, 29, of Oliver Street, South Bank, and Michael Swinnerton, 24, admitted supplying Class A drugs.
Ann Marie Sowerby, 24, of Eastbourne Road, Middlesbrough, was sentenced to 30 months after she admitted conspiracy to supply heroin.
Andrew Rowe, 26, of Kesteven Road, Middlesbrough, and Jason Dixon, 25, of Deepdale Road, Middlesbrough, were both given 100 hours' community service. Dixon admitted being concerned in the supply, and Rowe, supplying heroin.
