EVERYTHING stopped for tea as 1930s-style tea dances made a return to a top North Yorkshire hotel.
Ballroom dancing, accompanied by a quartet, took over from the DJ-led disco dancing as guests tucked into dainty sandwiches and fancy cakes in the Majestic Hotel, Harrogate.
A hotel spokeswoman said: "Guests told us the atmosphere hit just the right note. We worked hard to create the right feel for the event."
The Majestic reintroduced tea dances after three decades, following a trip by the hotel's general manager Frank Flaherty who saw their resurgence and success on a recent holiday in London.
They are now being held at the Majestic each Sunday afternoon.
