A WOMAN'S tireless community work has brought a cash award.
Rosamund Finlay, who works for the Community Service Volunteers (CSV) group in Barnard Castle, has been transporting elderly people to and from health appointments for three years.
Pearl Assurance has rewarded her efforts with a £500 grant towards the group's petrol costs.
She applied to Pearl under a grant scheme available to customers who have been with the firm for more than a year and spend over 80 hours a week working for a charity or community group. The scheme sets out conditions under which people can apply for a £500 grants to meet a specific need.
Ms Finlay said: "I am so absolutely thrilled with this donation. The CSV provide an excellent service to local elderly people who otherwise would find it extremely difficult to attend hospital appointments.
