SHOPPERS in Stanley signed a petition to help a campaign against domestic violence yesterday.
Members of Derwentside Women's Aid collected signatures in the town's Asda store to help combat violence against women and children.
All signatures collected, which included those from the Newcastle Falcons rugby team, and North West Durham MP Hilary Armstrong, are to be displayed in either Stanley or Consett Civic Centre.
The event was designed to coincide with International Women's Day.
