HEALTH Secretary Alan Milburn will open the new offices of the Darlington Primary Care Group (PCG) today.
The Primary Care Group was formed in April 1999 as part of the Government's health reforms.
It brings together GPs, community nurses, social services, health promotion and local people to plan health services according to local needs.
Linda Read, chief executive of Darlington PCG, said: "I am very pleased that Alan Milburn is opening our new office.
"I would also like to thank all the PCG team for their great efforts in making the event happen."
As part of his visit, the Darlington MP will be launching the UK's first online health promotion resource library with the help of promotion specialist Gordon Watson.
"The new website will enable access to health promotion information for health professionals, schools, colleges, local government staff, community and voluntary organisations," said Mr Watson.
