AN EQUALISING goal 35 seconds from the end of normal time denied Marske a place in the semi-finals of the FA Carlsberg Vase on Saturday.
Marske were on the verge of knocking out one of the competition favourites until Bedlington's Robert Cockburn made it 1-1, setting up a replay tomorrow after extra time failed to produce a winner.
Simon Kasonali pushed Marske into the lead after 12 minutes when he fired past Andrew Sams from a Darren Sankey pass.
When Cockburn missed with three minutes left, it seemed to be Marske 's day. But the defence failed to clear the ball inside their own area, Cockburn ran through and beat John Mohan for the equaliser.
Tomorrow's winners will be at home in the first leg of the semi-finals to Berkhamstead Town on Saturday, March 17.
