PEOPLE have been given the chance to go green and recycle their waste paper.
In the coming months, homes will be given a blue bag by Stockton Borough Council to collect their old newspapers, magazines, junk mail, white paper and catalogues.
The bags will be emptied by the council, in partnership with Cheshire Recycling and Roseberry Recycling.
The first bags were delivered to residents this week, along with a calendar of collection dates.
Other people will receive theirs in the coming weeks.
Councillor Barry Woodhouse, Stockton council's cabinet member for the environment, said: "It is part of our commitment to a sustained programme of improvement.
"The beauty of the scheme is that it requires very little effort on the part of each householder to do their bit towards helping to build a sustainable future."
For every tonne of waste paper collected, Cheshire Recycling will donate £1 to Save the Children, so residents will be able to help the charity as well as the environment.
