SPECTACULAR hats were the order of the day for a fundraising event at a County Durham infants school.
Pupils at Chilton Infants School came up with the novel idea to raise money for Comic Relief.
Children and staff all made hats and paid 50p to wear them in school yesterday.
Headteacher Soo Harrison said: "We decided we would have a spectacular hat day and all the children made one - some of them were really spectacular.
"We had a little parade around the assembly hall and there was a prize for the best one in each class. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves."
As well as having a great day, the children raised more than £150 for Comic Relief in the process
