STUDENTS with learning difficulties enjoyed a day out rubbing shoulders with airmen and women at RAF Leeming.
The students were all from Darlington College, where Leeming Corporal Darren Knott teaches basic numeracy and literacy, as a volunteer.
One of the students had attended an air display at Leeming and was enthusiastic about what he had seen, so a visit to the base was arranged.
The students watched a demonstration by the fire section crews, visited the police dog section, and had a close-up look at a Tornado F3 fighter
