TEACHERS have been gearing up for a one-off performance of their own version of The Full Monty.
For one night only, the four members of staff at Hummersknott School and Language College in Darlington will be performing at the school's cabaret evening.
The entertainment night has been arranged to celebrate the school gaining language college status and to mark the European Year of Language.
The quartet will start off in foreign clothes. Dave Bell will be a matador, Nick Merryfield a Frenchman, Moray Beachill a German and John Todd a Mexican - and they have called their act Di Volle Monty.
The exact nature of the routine is being kept a closely guarded secret, but the school has promised it will be tasteful and suitable for a family audience.
The act promises to be the highlight of a full evening's entertainment, which is a joint production between staff and pupils.
There will be music and songs in French, German and Spanish, Spanish dancing and a French can-can. Year eight boys will perform a French drinking song, which demands audience participation.
There will be a foreign buffet, provided by Judith Spink, while costumes have been designed by June Noble.
Director of the language department Suzanne Powner, who has organised the show with deputy Vicci Morris, said: "It should be really good fun for everyone, with a whole range of song and dance and, of course, the comedy of The Full Monty."
The show is on Thursday, at 7.30pm, and tickets, priced £6, are available from the school by phoning (01325) 241191
