A WILD West re-enactment group has proved that even tough cowboys have a generous side to them.
Members of the Lonestar re-enactment group have raised funds to provide a North-East hospital with a sleep monitor.
The Darlington group, which has about 20 members, raised more than £400 to buy the monitor for the town's Memorial Hospital.
The monitor is designed for babies, and can detect heart irregularities.
Patrick Townsend, director of Lonestar, said one member of the group had lost a relative to cot death.
He said: "This is something quite close to our hearts, so we decided that donating a sleep monitor would be apt.
"Every year we try to raise funds for a local charity or organisation, and we were delighted to help Darlington Memorial Hospital this year."
The group, formed in 1997, puts on displays around the country, and owns items dating from the 19th Century, including a saloon bar.
Mr Townsend, 21, said: "We have received a lot of help from Darlington Mayor, Dorothy Long, so we would also like to say a big thank you to her.
