THE North-East farmer who was at the forefront of the fuel protests last year will feature in a TV documentary tonight.
Andrew Spence, of Leadgate, Consett, County Durham, was a leading figure in the movement which nearly brought the country to a standstill last September.
The Channel 4 documentary - Seven Days That Shook Britain - will be shown at 10pm. It gives an insight into the tactical game that developed between the protestors and the Government, and the infighting among the movement's leaders.
Mr Spence intends to run as an independent candidate in the General Election against Tony Blair, in Sedgefield, County Durham
