HUMBLE sheets of paper became mathematical marvels at a paper-folding workshop hosted by a television expert.
Channel Four's Liz Meehan was at Teesside University on Saturday, to pass on tips to local schoolchildren.
The Maths Masterclass, which encouraged participants to use their imaginations in coming up with unusual shapes, was designed to show that mathematics can be fun.
Patricia Egerton, its co-organiser, said: "Everything to do with shapes and folds and corners can be interpreted in mathematical ways, which can enrich our understanding of geometry, and of origami!
"Masterclasses are highly regarded by local schools and are an exciting and stimulating opportunity for children to expand their knowledge."
