A WORKER was cut free yesterday morning after his hand became nailed to a floorboard.
The accident happened in Coral Street, Saltburn, east Cleveland, when the 28-year-old was with a group of contractors working on a house.
The workers were taking up floorboards and propped a six-foot floorboard against a wall. But it fell on the victim, embedding a nail in his hand.
Firefighters used a hacksaw to cut through the board to release the man. The victim, with the nail protruding from his hand, was taken to Middlesbrough General Hospital.
