YOUNGSTERS saw toys come to life when they were visited by a puppeteer.
Phil Spellacy, from the toy department of Bowes Museum, visited the year one class of Dodmire Infants' School to show them how to make puppets.
He also took along some of his own puppet creations and put on a show for all of the school's pupils.
Later this month, the year one children will visit the museum.
Headteacher Maureen Dixon said: "They will see toys from the past, clockwork toys and others. They will also be making time to see the famous swan at the museum.
"This is fantastic for the children because it covers so much of the curriculum - art and design, history and technology.
