VANDALS who cause damage to police vehicles could be putting lives at risk.
The warning was made yesterday after an attack on a Durham Police panda car parked outside a village store, while an officer was making an inquiry.
On returning to the vehicle, near the Co-op premises, in Newhouse Road, Esh Winning, near Durham, the policewoman found two tyres slashed, while the windscreen and two side windows were smashed.
It is believed the damage was caused some time after 8pm on Friday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0191-386 4222.
