POLICE investigating the death of a North-East teenager have renewed their appeal for information about a stolen video recorder.
The body of John Paul Jeffries, 18, was found on rocks in Hartlepool marina on Wednesday, January 24.
A 17-year-old and Darren Gibson, 34, of Raeburn Street, Hartlepool have been charged with murder.
Since John Paul's death, police have been trying to trace a video recorder stolen from the teenager's family home in Lowthian Road, on Thursday, January 18.
Despite visiting every second-hand shop in Hartlepool and appealing to the public, police have received no information about the Philips VR608 machine.
Superintendent Mark Braithwaite, leading the investigation, said: "I would like to remind people that this is a murder inquiry and I would urge anyone who has been offered a video recorder for sale to come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on (01642) 302187
