GROUPS of people are being invited to visit Guisborough Museum when it reopens in April.
The museum has new computer equipment and display cabinets thanks to a £4,000 lottery grant, which has enabled the museum to improve its displays of local artefacts and photographs.
All the items in the museum relate to the life and work of the people of the town and in the main, cover life in the past 100 years.
Jacky Quarmby, from the museum, said this year the museum hopes to bring its collections to the attention of a wider audience and is encouraging group visits.
"By expanding the amount of information available about the items on display and linking them with other undisplayed items in the museum's collection, it is hoped the museum and its contents can be used, especially by schools, as a way of illustrating the past and making the history relevant to the present."
Schools wanting to arrange visits should call (01287) 637419
