A NEW children's play park is due to open at Delves Lane, near Consett.
The opening of the £144,000 Delves Lane Village Hall play park will take place after an Easter Fancy Dress Parade on Easter Monday.
The Delves Lane Community Association received the money from the National Lottery Charities Board and has spent months developing the area. It has already been inundated with families wanting to know when the park will open.
The association's presiding committee has received £175,000 for the refurbishment of the village hall and a further £75,000 for the garden, equipment and a computer centre.
The centre has raised more than £500,000 for the good of the community.
