LAST-minute rehearsals are under way for a cabaret concert in Guisborough to raise funds for the rewiring of the parish church.
Members of the congregation have set themselves two years to raise £30,000 for a rewiring and lighting project at St Nicholas Parish Church. So far, they have raised £5,600 but hope the cabaret event will raise at least another £1,000.
There are two performances. The first at the parish hall, in Bow Street, tomorrow, and the second on next Saturday.
There will be interval refreshments and the entertainment includes dancers from Paninaro, from Guisborough, teenagers from Middlesbrough Magic Circle, a presentation of the monologue The Lion and Albert. There will also be short productions of Little Red Whittington by Guisborough Pantomime Group, a barber shop quartet and productions by Guisborough Theatre Club.
Tickets cost £4.50 or £3.50 for children under 12 and are available from Greensleeves Music Shop, Chaloner, Street, Guisborough or by calling (01287) 636028.
