A TOWN'S music groups are joining forces to pay tribute to a long-serving member who died last year.
Syd Lawson, of Shildon, sang with Bishop Auckland's choral and musical societies, as well as Darlington Choral Society.
His former colleagues have arranged a memorial concert in the Throne Room, at Auckland Castle, on Friday, April 6.
Proceeds will go to an appeal for an eye laser for diabetic patients, at Bishop Auckland General Hospital.
The concert starts at 7.15pm. Tickets cost £10 from Bishop Auckland Town Hall, Top Sounds, in Newgate Street, Crook Civic Centre, the hospital diabetes unit, or by calling 0191-378-0707.
