CASH to improve Guisborough is up for grabs, according to an action group in the town.
The Countryside Agency chose Guisborough as the pilot for a scheme aimed at reviving market towns. Residents will take part in a "health check" to highlight strengths and weaknesses in their community. The agency will then provide funding in those areas that need improving.
"We have access to grants that the Countryside Agency has made available and this could be a lot of money for the town," said Mrs Ruth Thompson, joint chairman of the Guisborough steering group.
The group holds a public meeting to discuss the health check at Sunnyfield House, Westgate, on Tuesday, March 27, at 7pm. Anyone interested in attending the meeting should first contact Mrs Thompson on 01287 634353
