Willington and District League
Willington Football Club upset the visiting league leaders, Willington Market with an odd point victory. Tony Atkinson and Carol Hawkins put the footballers ahead but then Stephen Shillan and Tom Barrass levelled. In the decider Christina Jackson beat the visiting Alan McAloon. This result leaves the Market two points ahead of the Quarry Burn. Oakenshaw Club visited Hunwick Quarry Burn and were beaten in the decider when Keith Dufton beat Tony Leighton. Ken Smith and Dale Edmundson had earlier taken singles for the home side with Dave Bennett and Kenny Plumpton replying. This win keeps the Quarry Burn one point ahead of Hunwick Club and the Prospect Club.

Willington League
Despite losing by two points at home to Willington Brewer's Droop, Oakenshaw Club clinched the Championship by two points. The Prospect Club took the runners-up spot after they only dropped one point at Hunwick Joiners Arms, while Willington Cottles finished third.
Willington Club visited Willington Burn and edged through to a two points victory. Steve Robson and Lyndon Taylor took singles points for the Burn, while the Club moved ahead with wins from Scott Little, Wilf Coney and Alan Walker. The Club moved 5-2 ahead when they took both doubles through Colin Walker with Alan Walker and Paul Tulip with Scott Little. The new landlord of the Burn, Gordon Foster took the captain's game when he beat Steve Hutchinson.

CIU WMC and Inst Union
The National Dominoes straight pairs championship, sponsored by John Smith, semi-finals will be played tomorrow at Darlington Club, 85 High Northgate, Darlington, County Durham DL1 1UJ at 2pm.
Competitors: G Sharp and S Sharp (Batley WM, Yorkshire); A Oldman and R Stoker (Batley WMC); R Tait and F Reidy (Kenton and District Social); N Hall and J Ppharoah (Mount Pleasant Social).
A draw will be made at 2pm on match day for pairings following which the semi-finals and final will be played to determine the union's national dominoes straight pairs champions
