CIU Individual League
There were only two games played at Crowtrees because Jimmy Alcock of Wingate was unable to attend. In the first Heppell Hodgson of Wolsingham played John Hall of Crowtrees and came through the first frame with ease. In the second frame Hall moved into an early lead but Hodgson edged through with a 22 break. Hodgson completed the whitewash with a 37 break in the third frame.
The other match played proved to be the quickest in the league this season. In the first frame Charlie Donaghy of Tow Law put in a decisive 32 break to beat Trevor Lomax of Oakenshaw. In the second frame both players made breaks in the teens every time to the table with Donaghy just taking the frame by five points. The pattern was repeated in the third frame only this time Lomax had the edge at the finish.
In the final matches of the season at Hunwick on Thursday, March 22 John Bate of Hunwick will play Lomax and Arnold Fleming of Crook will play Norman Kirkley of Bishop Auckland. The games which will see Norman Lowson of Willington against Fleming and Ken Robinson of Witton Gilbert against Donaghy will have to be re-arranged because of the involvement of Lowson and Donaghy in the CIU Final at Crowtrees.
