A WOMAN has said that she will have nothing more to do with a national TV contest because she would have had to share a room with a man who is not her husband.
Elaine Sibley, from Craster in Northumberland, was a favourite to win the bizarre Channel 5 Touch the Truck contest, in which 20 contestants try to win a luxury truck by being the last one to keep a hand on it.
But she withdrew after being booked into the same London hotel room as her friend Adrian Ridley who was to be her official assistant.
"We are good friends, but not that good," said the 40-year-old mother of two.
"I didn't think it was going to look very good for us to be sharing the same room."
A spokeswoman for the programme said that Mrs Sibley, like the other show contestants, had originally been offered a twin room because most go with a partner.
She said Mrs Sibley was eventually offered a single room
