PUPILS from schools in Shildon will be showing how waste can be recycled in artistic ways at a fair at the town's Timothy Hackworth School, tomorrow.
The youngsters have been working on projects with a waste and recycling theme for a week.
MP Derek Foster will open the fair, which will encourage parents to follow their children's example by going green.
Demonstrations will be given on how to recycle things in the garden, and there will be the chance to buy compost bins and water butts.
Professional artists will be taking part in a succession of activities, showing youngsters how to make kites and badges.
The fair has been organised by New Shildon Residents' Association, helped by Sedgefield Borough Council, Groundwork East Durham and the WasteWise Project.
Sunnydale School has created a sculpture out of waste materials, while St John's Church of England Primary has made a globe.
The fair's hosts, Timothy Hackworth, brought to life the pig and spider's web from the story, Charlotte's Web.
