YOUNGSTERS have pitted their wits and vocal talents against each other in a public speaking competition.
Secondary schools in east Cleveland taking part were Warsett, at Brotton, Bydales, at Marske, Huntcliff, at Saltburn, and De Brus, at Skelton.
This year's winners in both the junior and the senior section came from Huntcliff School.
Peter Johnson, from Saltburn Rotary Club, which organises the competition, said he thought it raised the confidence levels of youngsters.
The club needs to find £500 each year for the prizes, and a fundraising ceilidh has been organised for Friday, at Bydales School, in Marske. Tickets cost £5, and can be ordered from Mr Johnson on (01287) 624277.
