RESIDENTS of sheltered housing across Hartlepool have been helping the council find out what older people want and need in society.
Councillor Elizabeth Young has been on a whistle-stop tour of all 19 council-owned complexes, and some of the 13 others run by housing associations, in her role as older people's champion.

Coun Young said: "Older people possess many qualities and skills, which can be of benefit to the town, and they should be given opportunities to put them into practice.
