A 15-YEAR-OLD schoolboy is planning a trip of lifetime to Peru with 29 classmates.
Martyn Jones, of Shotley Bridge, must raise £2,895 in order to trek through some of the most exotic areas of the South American country.
If he is successful, he will also have to take part in community work, including teaching English as a foreign language, and other tasks.
Martyn, who has already raised £1,000 towards the project, will make the journey in July next year with classmates from Newcastle Royal Grammar School.
"It will be an amazing experience if it comes off," said Martyn.
"It will bring the group closer together, and there will be a fantastic team spirit. I'm really looking forward to seeing the famous landmarks like Lake Titicaca."
The trip is being organised by World Challenge Expeditions and Martyn has received £250 from Stanley Round Table
