SOME star treatment will be dished out on Mother's Day at an event dedicated to pampering.
The National Railway Museum, in York, is offering make-over demonstrations from cosmetics experts.
Visiting mothers will also have the chance to win tickets to see Stars In Their Eyes, at Granada Television Studios, in Manchester.
The show's presenter, Matthew Kelly, who is appearing in Kafka's Dick, at York Theatre Royal, was at the museum yesterday to meet cosmetics staff from the Clarins Studio, at Fenwicks, York.
They will be giving hourly demonstrations on Sunday, from 11am to 4pm, and helping to raise money for the restoration of Queen Victoria's royal saloon, through a raffle.
Head of marketing at the museum, Sue Matthewman, said: "We wanted to make this an extra special day for mothers by offering them the chance to come in free and perhaps have some time to themselves, while the rest of the family enjoys the museum.
