GIRLS at a Darlington school are preparing to raise the curtain on their annual dramatic production.
Bronia Walker, a teacher at Polam Hall School, has adapted Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice for the stage, and tickets to see her version of the classic are selling well.
Year 12 pupil Selena Blain has also choreographed a dance for the Netherfield Ball in the first act of the play.
Ms Walker said: "I have always loved Pride and Prejudice, and have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to adapt this classic novel for Polam Hall's annual dramatic production. The rehearsals have been great fun, and apart from the usual first night nerves, the girls are now looking forward to the actual productions."
The performances take place today, tomorrow and Saturday, starting at 7.30pm each night.
Tickets costing £6 for adults and £3 for children are available on (01325) 463383.
