YOUNGSTERS have been taking part in a science spectacular designed to capture the fun of chemistry.
Pupils from 12 schools attended the Salters Festival of Chemistry at the University of Durham Stockton Campus on Tuesday, to take part in science activities.
During the morning session, they took part in a practical forensic activity, in front of a panel of judges from industry and education, and after lunch they took part in a chemical egg race, putting their chemistry skills to the test.
The schools taking part were Bishopsgarth School, Egglescliffe School, Grangefield School, The Norton School and Thornaby Community School, all Stockton; Hall Garth School and Macmillan College, both Middlesbrough; Framwellgate Moor School, Durham; Huntcliffe School, Saltburn; Hurworth School, Darlington; Laurence Jackson School, Guisborough and Thornhill School, Sunderland.
