SPECIAL courses have been arranged throughout North Yorkshire to promote working with children.
Six free courses, entitled Making Choices, have been set up by North Yorkshire early years development and childcare partnership.
The course, run over six weekly sessions, is aimed at people about to leave school or who have not long left school on a "new deal" programme, hoping to return to work after a career break or wanting to make a career change.
Anyone interested should contact the pre-school learning alliance, which is delivering the training, on 0113 252 2848 to book a place on a local course. All who complete the programme will receive a formal certificate of attendance which will have national recognition.
Making Choices is offered in Northallerton at the Den, Mill Hill school, on Wednesdays 10am-12.30; the course started this week. In Ryedale it is at Lady Lumley school, Pickering, on Thursdays, 12.30-3pm, starting yesterday, and in Harrogate at Granby school on Thursdays, 7-9pm, starting next week.
