A REVAMPED estate's new health centre has won national praise for its work.
Pennywell Medical Centre, in Sunderland, is a model of good practice that should be followed elsewhere, according to the New Commitment to Neighbourhood Renewal report.
The praise comes a year after the centre was acclaimed for its best practice in an NHS report.
The centre won praise for giving fast access to services, including minor operations and health promotion.
The centre's primary care co-ordinator Judith Taylor said: "It is rewarding to see all the hard work that goes into the centre being acknowledged.''
