FOUR weeks of high-speed fundraising by young day centre clients have brought them close to putting a group of disabled Russian people on the road.
The Kaleidoscope Group, from Spennymoor Day Centre, who all have a physical disability of sensory impairment hope to send two specially-adapted buses to County Durham's twin area of Kostroma.
They are close to the £4,000 target they need to adapt two 28-seater buses given by Durham County Council and ship them to Kostroma in June.
With them will go spare parts and disability aids.
Two charity nights and a raffle have brought in almost £3,000. The Big D Country and Western Group, from Darlington, is due to present a £1,000 contribution on Tuesday
