POLICE are appealing for information after a coach was stoned by teenagers.
The incident happened at Sappers Corner on the A689, just outside Hartlepool, on Sunday at about 7.40pm.
A girl slowly and deliberately crossed the road in front of the Lumley's coach, which was turning the corner travelling from Hartlepool to Greatham village.
As the bus slowed down, allowing her to cross safely, a group of about a dozen, 12 to 14 year-olds pelted the coach with stones, smashing the driver's side window.
They then made off towards the nearby Fens estate. No one on the coach was hurt.
PC Jim Blackwell said: "This was a quite cynical and deliberate act of vandalism which could have had more serious or even fatal consequences.
"Anyone with any information can contact me in confidence on (01642) 302126."
